Problem Iphone 4 unclock

Now that iPhone 4 has been launched in US, and in some European countries, with lots more to follow in July and August. What everyone is obviously waiting for is to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 4. Since iPhone 4 comes unlocked in almost all countries except for United States, what everyone really wants is a jailbreak, which requires a new exploit as Apple has already patched all the holes in the most recent firmware release, including the one used by Spirit.

iPhone 4 Jailbreak

There has been lots of discussions on this in the community. Some are saying that jailbreak could be out as early as this weekend, some are pointing for a July release. Geohot was in France this week for “Nuit Du Hack” conference where he talked about a new exploit called “pwned4life” which can jailbreak and unlock all iPhones for life. While he definitely has exploits which can jailbreak or unlock iPhone 4, and iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPod touch 2G (MC models), iPod touch 3G, but the problem is that he doesn’t have any plans to release them soon. According to his recent tweet:

Another iPhone hacker, who is behind greenpois0n claims to have a tethered exploit which he is working on. But again, no plans on when he is going to release it to public.

The team which is probably closest in getting a jailbreak out for us is The iPhone Dev Team. What I believe is that they have a new exploit, which they will release in a form of tool in the upcoming weeks

Unlock for iPhone 4 is entirely a different story altogether. iPhone Dev Team released ultrasn0w 0.93 this past week which can unlock all basebands, including the newest 05.13.04 on all iPhones (except iPhone 4). Before iPhone 4 was released, it was initially believed that this version of ultrasn0w will also be able to unlock iPhone 4. But now according to this report from ModMyi Forums, iPhone 4 unlock will require complete rewrite of ultrasn0w software because of the new baseband OS in iPhone 4.

The DevTeam and others have been checking through the iPhone 4, and have noticed the baseband runs a completely different OS than on previous models. The iPhone 3G and 3G[S] both ran Nucleus OS on the PMB8878 baseband CPU (aka XGold 608), where the iPhone 2G ran the PMB8876 (aka S-Gold 2). iPhone 4 uses the PMB9800, or X-Gold 618 – running a separate OS – ThreadX, an RTOS by ExpressLogic.

So what this means is that an unlock for iPhone 4 wont be out anytime soon. So if you are an International user, you are good to go with unlocked versions of iPhone 4. US iPhone 4 users will have to wait for long before they can use this device on carriers other than AT&T.

If you are responsible for running a business or managing a significant part of a business, sooner or later your job will require you to be involved in negotiating one or more contracts.

The terms of the contract will in large measure determine both the benefit and the risk to your organization or the business relationship that is governed by the contract’s terms. Thus, it makes sense to approach any contract negotiation in a methodical and thoughtful manner, guided in part by the following tips:

Assess your bargaining leverage. Leverage is the extent to which the other party needs what you are offering more than you need what the other party is offering. The more leverage you have, the more likely the negotiations will go your way.

Don’t confuse leverage with your size relative to the other party. Many a small company will have leverage over a larger company.

Determine your “must haves.” For example, while getting list price for your services or products might be a must have in your negotiations with some customers, you may be willing to give a significant discount with respect to a marquee customer who permits you to use their name in your marketing materials. However, you might consider some must haves as a matter of corporate policy. This might include terms that permit you to recognize revenue in the same quarter as the deal is signed.

Prioritize your “must haves.” Are there any that are so important that you would walk away from the deal if the other party did not agree to them? Are there any that you would concede only if the other party sweetened the deal in one or more respects?

Focus on obtaining your must haves during the negotiations. Don’t get so carried away by the excitement of negotiation that you seek to win points on every issue.

Expect the process to be one of give and take. It is rare for either side to have such leverage over the other that it can expect to get its way on each and every issue that arises.

Moreover, demonstrating flexibility during negotiations often goes a long way towards establishing goodwill with the other party.

Determine whose template to use as a starting point for negotiations. Typically the parties should use the template of the seller or service provider rather than that of the purchaser. If you are a computer person, I recommend using computer programs that manage your calendar, tasks and e-mails. You can also sync your calendar, tasks and e-mails with your mobile phone for access in the office or on the road.

If you prefer paper, I recommend buying a planner that gives you plenty of room to write. I also recommend when buying a planner that you select one that shows the entire month for scheduling instead of one day at a time. Seeing everything all at once can help you determine other tasks that may need to take place. Whether electronic or by paper, try to set aside time each day (even 10 minutes) to plan your daily and weekly activities. Taking this time will greatly improve your time management and help you feel more organized.
